FRANK ASHTON CLASSIC ITALIAN AND ADDITIONAL RECIPES: My name is Frank Ashton and I live in the Cleveland Ohio area. I was a high school art teacher for 33 years. I love painting, especially Impressionism; and traveling with my wife; but my other love is for cooking. Over the years I have probably cooked for some 20,000 people. This includes cooking free for many groups to raise funds for worthy causes. Most of my recipes are original from me and some from my mother or my wife Dottie. This has led me to decide to share my original recipes with others. This site has 110 recipes to date! My goal is to be able to give real recipes that really are excellent. One should not expect anything exotic; but I will guarantee they will impress anyone who loves to eat. FIRST GO TO GOOGLE AND PRINT IN THE WHITE BOX FRANK ASHTON ORIGINAL RECIPES AND CLICK ON THAT. Frank Ashton Original Recipes should come up. To print a recipe save it to favorites and then click on the recipe on favorites and you will then be able to print it. ABOUT THIS BLOG PAGE

I have always loved to cook and paint since I was a teenager.  There is something about them that allows me to be creative.  I could never throw a ball, catch a ball, or hit a ball; but I can cook and I love to paint.  In the last seven art shows I have entered, I have taken 4 first place awards.  Did I say I hate to lose and I hate rejection.  Once I was giving a lecture to amature artists and I mentioned to them that we artists hate rejection; they all shook their heads up and down agreeing that it is hard to take.  It isn't that I don't realize that I will not always win as much as I would like as there are always someone who will be better!  The same goes for cooking.  The blog that I have put 225 original recipes so far is a way to express my ideas of cooking.  I try to write each recipe so that anyone who trys them does not have to guess how to cook the recipe.
I am sure there are still some aspects of a recipe that might not be clear enough, though sometimes I realize that the recipe may seem overwhelming also.  I do believe that they really are not as difficult as one would think and once you try the recipe you will not be disapointed in the results.
One of my favorite quotes and one that I try to emulate in life is from George Bernard Shaw and was a favorite of  Senator Bobby Kennedy: 'Some people see things as they are and ask why? I dream things yet to be and say why not!"  To me persistence is the secret of success and easily giving up is the opposite.  So I will keep on painting and I will keep on cooking, and I will keep on trying to do things to help change even a small portion of the wrongs of this life!
