FRANK ASHTON CLASSIC ITALIAN AND ADDITIONAL RECIPES: My name is Frank Ashton and I live in the Cleveland Ohio area. I was a high school art teacher for 33 years. I love painting,especially Impressionism; and traveling with my wife; but my other love is for cooking. Over the years I have probably cooked for some 20,000 people. This includes cooking free for many groups to raise funds for worthy causes. Most of my recipes are original from me and some from my mother or my wife Dottie. LEEK AND POTATO SOUP ASHTON STYLE #222

     This recipe is a variation of a French soup and one that I have made several times and have enjoyed serving guests.  I hope you will try it and enjoy it as much as I have.
INGREDIENTS
      6 potatoes, peeled and cut in four
      4 medium leeks with the dark green leaves
      removed and the leeks cut into 3 inch pieces
      4 stalks celery cut into 3 inch lengths
      3 parsnips, peeled and par boiled
      2 tbls Millers Chicken base or equivalent
      2 cups dry white wine
      1 cup cream
      1/2 cup parsley
      1/2 tsp white pepper
